Safari Chris

Safari Chris Redfield

Cost to Unlock: 8,000 Points

Safari Chris is the first Chris Alternate available to play as in Versus. He's a slightly more vamped version of Chris that has a few extra perks that no other Chris does. In Survivors, he starts with the SIG P226 Handgun, a First Aid Spray, and 3 Flash Grenades. In Slayers he gets the M3 Shotgun as well as 2 Rocket Launchers added to his inventory and loses the first aid spray and flash grenades.

In Survivors, Safari works mostly identical to B.S.A.A. Chris and suffers from the same drawbacks of his bulky frame making him an easy target and his Haymaker finisher having a long startup and cooldown animation which again, leave him vulnerable to attack.

In Slayers, Safari Chris can be incredibly powerful due to his arsenal. His double Rocket Launchers allow him to instant boss kills, assuming he gets to them before another player does. Any boss will die instantly from a Rocket blast, and bosses are worth the most points in Slayers. Therefore Safari has an instant advantage to take them out quicker than any other player.

His Handgun will kill any normal majini in 2 hits, has a decent critical headshot chance, and his M3 Shotgun will kill any normal majini in one hit. Safari also has 3 flash grenades to deal with various plagas that pop up making him a very all around powerful character in Slayers.

Against other Players, Safari's M3 Shotgun can dispatch another player who is bothering you with 2-3 shots. However, it follows the same rules as B.S.A.A. Chris when trying to take down players and bosses with a weapon that has lag in between shots like a shotgun does.

Lastly, while you certainly can and will instantly kill another player with your Rockets, it is the absolute stupidest move you could make in the game. Those two Rockets will instantly kill any two bosses which are worth a LOT of points. Killing another player gives you only 1000 points. So wasting your Rockets on other players is not worth it. Save them for bosses.

Special Ability #1: His Haymaker finisher tracks, unlike most other finishers. This makes it 'almost' impossible to miss with it without lag involved. Every other melee finisher can be strafed out of except Chris' Haymaker.

Special Ability #2: Safari Chris, and only Safari Chris is immune to Flash Grenades. You will still receive points for using one on him, but, he is immune to the disorienting effect caused by them. Therefore, if someone throws a flash grenade at you, your screen will not turn white and you will not be blinded by it.
