B.S.A.A. Jill

B.S.A.A. Jill Valentine

Cost to Unlock: 5,000 Points

B.S.A.A. Jill is the first version of Jill that is playable in Versus. She's an all around character much like B.S.A.A. Chris, having both strengths and weaknesses that balance her out but don't make her particularily more or less powerful than anyone else. In Survivors, she starts with the Px4 Handgun, 3 Flash Grenades and a First Aid Spray. In Slayers, her flashes are increased to 5, and she gains the H&K MP5 Machine Gun.

In Survivors, Jill is often a good choice due to her nimble size, quick agility, and her knifing abilities. Her Cartwheel Kick melee has a very fast startup with almost no lag involved, however it does have a recovery lag afterwards which leaves her open to attack, and it is possible to miss with it. Jill's Handgun is also good for headshotting annoying Majini due to it's high critical rate, thus saving bullets for the opposing team while removing problematic enemies from your area.

In Slayers, Jill can be quite good, though she is definately outclassed by other characters. Her biggest problem is that she lacks a quick way to deal with bosses. She can certainly handle her own against bosses and dispatch them with little problem to herself, it's the simple fact it takes her longer than other characters to do so that hurts her. Her Flash Grenades are invaluable for dealing with the various plagas that come about, especially the Duvalia. Three shots from her handgun will kill any normal majini so this should be your main course of action, save your machine gun ammo for bosses. Stock up on handgun ammo and use it to take out majini. Her handgun as mention earlier has a very high critical rate which makes it a very high chance of landing an instant kill with a head shot which also saves ammo as well if your aim is good enough.

For bosses, simply switch to the MP5 and tear into the bosses. The majority of bosses will get locked into a stun cycle as long as you keep unloading her MP5 into them. They may take a step or two forward but will almost always get stunned backwards. So you can unload into an Executioner that is walking towards you without worry of him hitting you with his axe even if he starts the animation. Just make sure you don't start trying to shoot him while he's already in the axe animation else you will get hit.

Against other Players, Jill can have a difficult time dealing with them unless she's smart and prepared. Grab incendiary grenades found throughout the level and stock up on them as best as you can and hotkey it to the down button on your d-pad. If another player starts harassing you, simply switch to the flame grenade and hurl it at their feet then run up to them and unload your MP5 into them. Odds are very high that you'll put them in danger or dying by the time they get out of the burning animation which will often cause them to start fleeing rather than attack you. Or you'll have put them into dying either way.

That is the single best way to deal with other players when playing Slayers as Jill. However, if you cannot find or are out of flame grenades, your best offense is from a distance. Keep yourself at range from them and potshot them in the head with your Handgun to wear them down. The majority of other characters will need to get close in order to seriously hurt you, while you can deal great damage with her handgun from a distance by head shotting them with her high critical rate. This will wear them down by the time they get close to you, or cause them to flee.

Special Ability: Jill has the only unique Knifing animation in the game. Instead of slicing with her knife, she stabs forward. Therefore she can get 2-3 stabs in the time it takes any other character to slice once with theirs. This makes her incredibly powerful at close range when the enemy is distracted, ensnared, or stuck in an animation. This also allows her to reach higher with her knife than other characters as well, giving her better range with her knife as well.
